How to Install and Connect the Nextcloud Desktop App for Snowtech SnowCloud
This guide explains how to install the Nextcloud desktop application on your computer and connect it to the Snowtech SnowCloud service.
The desktop app allows you to automatically sync files between your computer and SnowCloud.

Before you begin
You will need:
- Your SnowCloud username
- Your SnowCloud password
- An active internet connection

Step 1: Download the Nextcloud Desktop App
Open your web browser and visit:
https://nextcloud.com/install
Download the correct version for your operating system.
Step 2: Install the Application
Windows
- Open the downloaded installer.
- Click Next.
- Accept the installation prompts.
- Click Install.
macOS
- Open the downloaded DMG file.
- Drag the Nextcloud application into the Applications folder.
- Open the application.
Linux
Install using your Linux distribution’s package manager or AppImage package from the Nextcloud website.
Step 3: Connect to SnowCloud
When the application opens, enter the server address:
https://cloud.snowtech.com.au
Click:
Next
Step 4: Sign in
Enter your SnowCloud account details:
- Username: Your SnowCloud username
- Password: Your SnowCloud password
Approve the connection if prompted.
Step 5: Choose Sync Folders
You can choose:
- Which folders to sync from SnowCloud
- Where files should be stored locally on your computer
The default settings are suitable for most users.
Using the Desktop App
Once connected:
- Files automatically sync between your computer and SnowCloud.
- Changes are uploaded automatically.
- You can access files offline.
- A Nextcloud folder will appear on your computer.
Troubleshooting
Cannot connect to the server
Ensure the server address is:
https://cloud.snowtech.com.au
Login issues
Verify your username and password are correct.
Files are not syncing
Check your internet connection and confirm the Nextcloud application is running.
