This Cookie Policy explains how Snowtech Services ("Snowtech", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or interact with Snowtech websites, the Snowtech Client Area and other online services operated by Snowtech.

This policy should be read together with the Snowtech Privacy Policy, which explains how Snowtech collects, uses, stores and protects personal information.

ABOUT THIS POLICY

Snowtech uses cookies and similar technologies to operate its websites and online services, maintain customer sessions, provide ordering and account functionality, improve security, remember appropriate preferences, understand how visitors use our websites and measure the effectiveness of advertising and marketing activities.

Some cookies are necessary for our websites and customer systems to function correctly. Other technologies may be used for analytics, performance measurement, advertising or marketing purposes.

The cookies and technologies used may vary depending on which Snowtech website, service or page you access.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website may store on your computer, mobile device or other device when you visit a website.

Cookies allow a website to recognise a browser or session and may be used to remember information between page requests or visits.

Cookies can be:

  • Session cookies — temporary cookies that generally remain only for the duration of a browsing session.
  • Persistent cookies — cookies that remain on the device for a defined period or until they are deleted.
  • First-party cookies — cookies created by the Snowtech website or service being visited.
  • Third-party cookies — cookies created by an external service used or integrated with a Snowtech website.

SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

In addition to traditional cookies, websites and online services may use similar technologies or identifiers to provide functionality, measure usage, deliver advertising or protect services.

These may include local browser storage, session storage, pixels, tags, scripts, advertising identifiers, device or browser identifiers and similar technologies.

References to "cookies" in this policy should be read as including similar technologies where appropriate.

  • Functional — used to remember settings or provide additional website functionality.
  • Analytics — used to understand website usage, visitor interactions and website performance.
  • Marketing — used to measure advertising, campaign performance, conversions and, where configured and permitted, advertising audiences and remarketing.

STRICTLY NECESSARY COOKIES

Because these cookies are necessary for core website or service functionality, blocking them may prevent parts of Snowtech websites or online services from operating correctly.

CLIENT AREA, ORDERING AND AUTHENTICATION

The Snowtech Client Area and ordering systems require cookies or similar session technologies to provide account, authentication, billing, ordering and customer-service functionality.

These technologies may be used to maintain your session while you:

Session and security cookies used for these purposes are considered necessary for providing the requested service.

Functional cookies may be used to remember choices or preferences and provide improved website functionality.

Depending on the website or service, these may remember information such as interface preferences, previously selected options or other settings intended to improve the user's experience.

ANALYTICS, PERFORMANCE AND MARKETING TECHNOLOGIES

Snowtech uses analytics, performance measurement and marketing technologies to understand how visitors use its websites, improve website content and usability, measure advertising and marketing performance, and better understand how visitors find and interact with Snowtech services.

These technologies may collect information such as:

  • Pages visited.
  • Approximate visit times and duration.

  • Browser and device information.
  • General geographic or network information derived from an IP address.
  • Interactions with website pages and features.
  • Advertising or campaign identifiers.
  • Technical information concerning website performance.
  • Conversion events, such as completion of an enquiry, registration or purchase where configured.

Snowtech uses or intends to use services including Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity for these purposes.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Snowtech uses Google Analytics, including Google Analytics 4 ("GA4"), to assist with measuring and understanding website traffic and visitor interactions.

Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about visits to Snowtech websites. Information collected through Google Analytics may be processed by Google in accordance with Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.

Snowtech uses analytics information to understand matters such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the website, how website features are used and where improvements may be required.

Snowtech does not rely on the assumption that all information collected through analytics technologies is necessarily anonymous. Information collected through these technologies will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and the Snowtech Privacy Policy.

GOOGLE ADS

Snowtech may use Google Ads and associated Google advertising and conversion-measurement technologies to advertise Snowtech products and services and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

Google Ads technologies may use cookies, tags and similar identifiers to:

Where required, Snowtech may use Google's consent-related technologies or other controls to communicate user choices concerning analytics or advertising storage to Google services.

META PIXEL

Snowtech may use the Meta Pixel and associated Meta technologies in connection with advertising and marketing conducted through Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.

The Meta Pixel is a website technology that can assist Snowtech to understand how visitors interact with its website after viewing or interacting with advertising on Meta platforms.

Depending on Snowtech's configuration and the user's browser, account and privacy settings, Meta technologies may be used to:

  • Measure visits resulting from Facebook or Instagram advertising.
  • Measure advertising conversions.
  • Understand how advertising campaigns perform.
  • Create advertising audiences where configured and permitted.
  • Assist with delivery of advertising that may be more relevant to users.
  • Measure interactions with Snowtech website pages following advertising activity.

Information collected through the Meta Pixel or associated Meta technologies may be transmitted to and processed by Meta in accordance with Meta's applicable terms, privacy policies and user privacy settings.

Snowtech does not use the Meta Pixel as a substitute for its own Customer account records and does not intentionally configure the Pixel to transmit information that Snowtech considers inappropriate for advertising or analytics purposes.

MICROSOFT CLARITY

Snowtech may use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with Snowtech websites and to assist with improving website usability, navigation, layout and performance.

Microsoft Clarity provides behavioural website analytics that may include information about:

  • Scrolling behaviour.
  • Mouse movement.
  • Browser and device characteristics.
  • Page and session activity.
  • Website performance and technical events.

  • Session playback or session recordings.

Microsoft Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies to associate website interactions with sessions and pseudonymous identifiers.

Clarity may provide Snowtech with session recordings that reproduce website interactions for analysis. Snowtech will configure available privacy and masking controls with the intention of preventing sensitive form information and other information that should not be captured from being included in session recordings.

Information collected through Microsoft Clarity may be processed by Microsoft in accordance with Microsoft's applicable terms and privacy practices.

MARKETING AND ADVERTISING

Snowtech may use information obtained through analytics and advertising technologies to measure marketing effectiveness and, where permitted, to assist with advertising Snowtech products and services.

Depending on the technology and configuration used, this may include:

  • Conversion measurement.
  • Campaign attribution.
  • Advertising audience measurement.
  • Remarketing or retargeting.
  • Advertising performance analysis.
  • Understanding which Snowtech products or services generate visitor interest.

Snowtech will not treat the mere use of a website as consent to a use of personal information where express consent is required by applicable law.

Where consent or another user choice is required for a particular advertising or tracking technology, Snowtech may use a cookie preference or consent mechanism to record and communicate that choice.

SECURITY AND FRAUD PREVENTION

Cookies, session identifiers and similar technologies may be used to protect Snowtech websites, customer accounts and online services.

These technologies may assist Snowtech to:

  • Identify suspicious sessions or requests.
  • Protect login and authentication processes.
  • Prevent cross-site request forgery and similar attacks.
  • Detect automated or abusive activity.
  • Reduce fraud.
  • Protect customer accounts from unauthorised access.

Security technologies may operate regardless of analytics or marketing preferences where they are reasonably necessary to protect the website, service or Customer account.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Some Snowtech websites and online services use functionality or technologies provided by third parties.

Third-party providers used by Snowtech may include:

  • Google — for Google Analytics, Google Ads, advertising measurement and related technologies.
  • Meta — for Meta Pixel and measurement of advertising conducted through platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
  • Microsoft — for Microsoft Clarity website analytics, heatmaps and session interaction analysis.
  • Payment providers — for payment processing, authentication, security and fraud prevention.
  • Infrastructure and content delivery providers — for delivery of website resources, performance, availability and security.

Third-party services may set or access their own cookies, pixels, identifiers or similar technologies when their functionality is loaded or used.

Third-party providers control their own technologies and may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.

Snowtech seeks to use reputable service providers and to limit third-party integrations to those reasonably required for business, security, analytics, marketing or service-delivery purposes.

CONTENT DELIVERY AND EXTERNAL RESOURCES

Snowtech may use third-party content delivery networks and infrastructure providers to deliver website resources such as stylesheets, fonts, JavaScript libraries, frameworks and other static website files.

For example, external content delivery infrastructure may be used to efficiently load commonly used website components such as Bootstrap or JavaScript libraries.

When a browser requests a resource from an external provider, that provider may receive technical information necessary to deliver the request, such as the requesting IP address, browser information and requested resource.

Snowtech does not classify the use of a content delivery provider solely for delivery of static website resources as advertising or marketing tracking unless the provider or technology is also being used for those purposes.

PAYMENT SERVICES

Where a Customer uses an online payment method, the transaction may involve an external payment provider.

Payment providers may use cookies or similar security technologies for purposes including transaction processing, authentication, fraud prevention and payment security.

Cookies and technologies operated directly by an external payment provider are subject to that provider's applicable privacy policy and terms.

INFORMATION COLLECTED THROUGH COOKIES

Depending on the cookie or technology involved, information collected may include:

  • A session or cookie identifier.
  • IP address.
  • Browser type and version.
  • Device type.
  • Operating system.
  • Pages or services accessed.
  • Date and time information.
  • Referring pages, websites or advertising campaigns.
  • Website interactions.
  • Authentication or session state.
  • Shopping-cart state.
  • Security and fraud-prevention information.
  • Advertising and conversion identifiers.
  • Interaction information used for analytics, heatmaps or session analysis.

The information collected depends on the particular website, service and technology being used.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Information collected through cookies and similar technologies may constitute personal information where an individual is reasonably identifiable from that information, either by itself or when combined with other information.

Where information collected through cookies or similar technologies constitutes personal information, Snowtech will handle that information in accordance with applicable privacy law and the Snowtech Privacy Policy.

COOKIE DURATION

The period for which a cookie remains on a device varies according to its purpose and configuration.

Session cookies generally expire when the relevant session ends, although browser behaviour may affect when they are removed.

Persistent cookies remain for the period specified by the cookie or service provider unless they are deleted earlier by the user or browser.

Third-party providers may determine the duration of cookies created by their services.

Snowtech does not represent that every cookie used across every Snowtech service has the same retention period.

MANAGING COOKIE PREFERENCES

Where Snowtech provides a cookie preference or consent mechanism, users may use that mechanism to manage available choices concerning optional analytics or marketing technologies.

Strictly necessary cookies cannot normally be disabled through a Snowtech cookie preference mechanism because they are required to provide essential website, security, ordering or account functionality.

Users can also manage cookies through their browser or device settings.

BROWSER CONTROLS

Most modern web browsers allow users to view, delete, restrict or block cookies.

Available controls may include:

  • Deleting existing cookies.
  • Blocking all cookies.
  • Blocking third-party cookies.
  • Allowing cookies only for selected websites.
  • Automatically deleting cookies when the browser is closed.
  • Changing privacy or tracking settings.

The exact controls available depend on the browser and device being used.

CONSEQUENCES OF DISABLING COOKIES

Blocking or deleting cookies may affect the operation of Snowtech websites and services.

In particular, disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent users from:

  • Logging in to the Client Area.
  • Maintaining an authenticated session.
  • Maintaining items in an order or shopping cart.
  • Completing certain transactions.
  • Using account-management functions.
  • Using website features that depend on session information.

Disabling optional analytics or marketing cookies should not normally prevent basic public website content from being accessed.

BROWSER PRIVACY AND TRACKING CONTROLS

Browsers, devices and third-party providers may provide additional privacy controls relating to cookies, advertising, tracking protection and third-party content.

Snowtech recommends reviewing the privacy and cookie settings available within the browser or device being used if you wish to restrict cookies or similar technologies.

Google, Meta and Microsoft may also provide account-level or service-specific controls relating to advertising, analytics or personalisation. Those controls are operated by the relevant third-party provider and may change from time to time.

OVERSEAS PROCESSING

Some third-party service providers used by Snowtech, including providers of analytics, advertising and other online technologies, may operate infrastructure or process information outside Australia.

Where personal information is disclosed to an overseas recipient or processed using an overseas service provider, Snowtech will address applicable Australian privacy requirements as described in the Snowtech Privacy Policy.

RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PRIVACY POLICY

This Cookie Policy provides information specifically about cookies and similar technologies.

The Snowtech Privacy Policy contains broader information about how Snowtech collects, holds, uses, discloses and protects personal information and should be read together with this policy.

CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY

Snowtech may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to its websites, online services, technologies, analytics systems, advertising platforms, third-party providers, business practices or applicable legal requirements.

The current version number and effective date will be displayed with this policy.

Where appropriate, Snowtech may provide additional notice of material changes.
