This guide covers common issues and solutions when using the Snowtech UnBlock IP module.
Client IP Not Detected
Possible Causes:
- Proxy or CDN masking IP address
- Cloudflare or reverse proxy configuration
Solution:
- Ensure WHMCS correctly detects real visitor IP
- Configure trusted proxy headers if using Cloudflare
Unblock Request Fails
Check:
- CSF is installed on the server
- Server API credentials are correct
- WHMCS server connection test passes
- Licence status is Active
Rate Limit Triggered
If client receives rate limit message:
- Wait for the configured time window to expire
- Admin may manually review logs
IP Not Found in CSF
If the module reports no block found:
- Confirm correct server selected
- Check CSF deny list manually via server
- Verify IP matches exactly (no IPv6 vs IPv4 mismatch)
“Do Not Delete” Block Preventing Removal
If removal fails due to protected block:
- Review CSF configuration
- Admin may manually remove block if appropriate
Admin Logs Not Showing Entries
Logs are stored in:
mod_unblockip_logs
Also recorded in:
tblactivitylog
If empty:
- Ensure module is properly activated
- Verify database permissions
Module Not Visible to Clients
- Confirm addon is active
- Verify client area output is enabled
- Check template customisations are not hiding module links
Security Considerations
- The module only removes IP blocks — it does not modify other firewall rules.
- Rate limiting prevents abuse.
- CSF “do not delete” entries are respected if enabled.
