An EPP Code (also known as an Authorisation Code, Transfer Key or Transfer Password) is required when transferring many domain names to another registrar.

The EPP Code helps protect your domain from unauthorised transfers and confirms that you are the legitimate domain owner.

Obtaining an EPP Code

  1. Log in to the Snowtech Services Client Area.
  2. Navigate to Domains > My Domains.
  3. Select the domain name you wish to transfer.
  4. Locate the Get EPP Code or Request Transfer Code option.
  5. Follow the prompts to request the code.

How Will I Receive the EPP Code?

Depending on the domain extension and registry requirements:

  • The EPP code may be displayed immediately within the Client Area.
  • The EPP code may be emailed to the domain registrant or administrative contact.
  • Some domain extensions may require manual verification before the code can be issued.

Important Information Before Transferring

Before transferring your domain, please ensure:

  • The domain is not expired.
  • The registrant contact details are current.
  • You have access to the registrant email address.
  • The domain is not subject to a transfer lock.

Domain Transfer Locks

Many domain names have transfer protection enabled to prevent unauthorised transfers.

If your domain is locked, you may need to disable the transfer lock before commencing the transfer process.

Australian Domain Names (.au)

Many .au domain transfers do not require a traditional EPP code and may instead use an Authorisation Info (AuthInfo) code or follow auDA transfer procedures.

The transfer process can vary depending on the domain extension and registrar involved.

Important: Transferring a domain away from Snowtech Services does not automatically cancel any associated hosting, email or other services. These services must be cancelled separately if no longer required.
