Configuring & Using the Sitemap Generator Print

The Sitemap Generator creates an XML sitemap for your WHMCS installation to improve search engine indexing.


What the Sitemap Includes

Depending on configuration, the sitemap may include:

  • Homepage
  • Product pages
  • Product group pages
  • Knowledgebase categories and articles
  • Announcements
  • Client area public pages
  • Blog pages (if integrated)

Main Interface

To access:

  1. Go to Addons → Sitemap Generator.

Generate Sitemap Manually

  1. Click Generate Sitemap.
  2. The system scans configured content.
  3. An XML file is created at:
/sitemap.xml

Verify Sitemap

Open in your browser:

https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

If valid, XML content will display correctly.


Submit to Search Engines

Submit your sitemap to:

  • Google Search Console
  • Bing Webmaster Tools

Sitemap URL:

https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

Automating Sitemap Generation (Recommended)

You may configure a cron job to regenerate the sitemap daily.

Example Cron Command:

php -q /path/to/whmcs/modules/addons/sitemap_generator/cron_generate.php

Recommended schedule:

0 2 * * * (Daily at 2AM)

SEO Best Practices

  • Ensure only public pages are included
  • Exclude duplicate URLs
  • Keep sitemap under 50,000 URLs per file
  • Regenerate after major content updates
