Snowtech Services Admin Widget – Troubleshooting Guide

This guide covers common issues when using the Snowtech Services Admin Widget.

Widget Not Appearing

Check:

  • File uploaded to /modules/widgets/
  • Widget enabled under Configure Widgets
  • File permissions set correctly (644 recommended)

No Modules Detected

  • Ensure Snowtech modules are installed correctly
  • Verify module folder names are unchanged
  • Confirm module version is defined in the main file

Update Check Not Working

Possible Causes:

  • Server cannot make outbound HTTPS requests
  • Firewall blocking external API calls
  • PHP curl extension not enabled

Solution:

  • Verify outbound port 443 is open
  • Enable PHP curl extension
  • Check server error logs

Incorrect Version Displayed

  • Clear WHMCS template cache
  • Ensure updated module files were fully uploaded
  • Verify version number inside module main PHP file

Dashboard Performance Issues

If the dashboard loads slowly:

  • Check server latency for outbound HTTPS calls
  • Ensure no firewall inspection delays API calls
  • Review server resource usage

Security Notes

  • The widget does not collect client data.
  • No licence validation occurs.
  • Only module version information is checked.
  • No remote code execution is performed.
