FAQ
Questions About Link Compliance Manager
It monitors eligible hosting services for required promotional backlinks, linked banners and hosting-credit links. DNS/hosting context, HTTP results and link evidence help staff distinguish a confirmed missing link from a site or platform issue.
Hosting providers that require a promotional backlink, banner or hosting-credit link on selected hosting plans. It brings inventory checks, evidence and follow-up into WHMCS so staff can review findings alongside the applicable hosting terms.
You configure scope using products, product groups, servers and supported custom-field rules. Inventory sync reads the eligible WHMCS services into the module, with exclusions and optional whitelist controls.
Yes. Settings include excluded domains and an optional in-scope whitelist. Supported service/incident controls also allow staff to review false positives, exemptions, temporary ignores and resolution states.
Configure approved destination URLs and hostnames, banner image URL patterns, optional image alt text and plain text link patterns. The module inspects fetched HTML and records evidence for review.
The check is homepage-first. An optional limited crawl follows homepage links to extra pages on the same host, with a hard cap of three additional pages. Setting the extra-page limit to zero keeps checks on the homepage.
The current checker fetches HTML without browser automation. A link inserted only after JavaScript runs may require manual review. Check the returned HTML and match evidence before treating the result as a confirmed breach.
Allowed server IPs, the WHMCS service server IP and optional authoritative nameserver hostnames provide hosting context. Uncertain, unreachable or off-platform results are kept separate from confirmed missing-link findings.
Proxy/CDN DNS can make direct server matching uncertain. Review the evidence and platform settings. Treat off-platform DNS as link non-compliance is optional and is not recommended for proxied setups in the current settings guidance.
Enable daily cron processing to run through WHMCS DailyCronJob. Batch size controls the number of services checked per day, with fair rotation and a minimum interval between automatic checks.
Normal scheduled processing integrates with the WHMCS daily automation job. Ensure your WHMCS cron works and daily processing is enabled in the module. Staff can also run manual batches from Tools.
Yes. Dry run skips ticket and workflow side effects, though check results may still be recorded. Review those findings, scope and match patterns before enabling actions.
Repeated failures roll up into deduplicated incidents with linked checks and workflow history. When automatic tickets are enabled, the current documentation specifies at most one client ticket per open link-related incident.
Only if automatic ticket creation is enabled and the configured conditions are met. Set consecutive-failure thresholds, ticket department, subject, message and compliance time allowance; or keep the workflow internal.
It gives staff an internal list of review and follow-up work. Thresholds control when internal review and escalation items are created, and incidents retain their linked check and ticket context.
No. The suspension framework shown in the current configuration is log-only and does not suspend services. Staff should review evidence and handle any hosting enforcement through their normal process.
Check evidence includes DNS, HTTP, redirects, match details and relevant HTML. Check results show the finding category, compliance code, platform, link state and URL. Logging records workflow/admin actions and audit runs, with operational events also available in WHMCS activity logs.
Check the current installation guide for supported WHMCS/PHP versions, required extensions and any encoding requirements. The module needs DNS and outbound HTTP access for checks, plus a working WHMCS cron for scheduled processing. Access is controlled through WHMCS admin roles.
Leased pricing is $9.95 AUD per month or $99 AUD per year, with updates while subscribed. An owned licence costs $249 AUD once and includes 12 months of updates. Further update access costs $49 AUD per year.
No. The $49 AUD yearly update renewal is optional. You can continue using your licensed version without renewing; renewal provides another 12 months of update access.
