Watch out for scam emails claiming to be from .auDA

We have received reports of scammers targeting .au domain registrants with an email phishing attack. These emails are sent by someone impersonating auDA requesting personal information including scanned copies of identification documents.

What should you do if you receive an email requesting this information?

If you have received an email from someone claiming to be from auDA, do not reply to it. Instead, please notify ACCC's Scamwatch. Please be aware that auDA will always communicate through your certified Registrar – never directly with domain owners.

What should you do if you’ve provided personal details in response to this scam email?

If you have already responded to this email, we recommend that you contact your local police force for further advice.
